Are you graduating soon at the Department of Transport and Planning? Do you want your work to be remembered?
As a cooperation between Dispuut Verkeer and the T&P department, we are launching the all-new Thesis Remembrance Wall!
It is located on the fourth floor of the CEG building, just across the hall from the association’s HoK (CEG 4.08).
Instructions
1. Go to the template.
2. You can’t edit the template directly, so click File -> Make a copy at the top left
corner.
3. Fill in/replace the template as follows:
4. The title of your thesis
- Your name
- Here you will sign the (physical) card later. Leave it blank for now!
- Description of your project
- The date of your defense. Use YYYY-MM-DD format please.
- Add a picture, either of yourself, of your thesis cover, or any picture that is related to your project!
- Here you can add a small logo, e.g. of the Lab or company you did your thesis with.
- In this field, we would like you to add a QR code that leads to your project in the TU Delft repository. For that, select Apps in the sidebar on the left, then search for “QR code”, paste in your URL, press Generate Code and a QR code is automatically generated in your file. You will obtain the link to your thesis after successfully submitting it to the TU Delft repository (this should be done with your final hand-in).
5. Try to stick to the given layout as closely as possible to maintain a uniform look of the thesis remembrance wall. This mostly means limiting the length of your text. Of course, if set elements like your name don’t fit, you can adjust the text size.
6. Save your completed card as a PNG (File -> Download -> set File Type to PNG).
7. Send your card, along with a short email stating your name, programme and the date/time of your defense to education@dispuutverkeer.nl and the department’s secretaries (secr-tp-citg@tudelft.nl). Use Submission Thesis Remembrance Wall card as the subject. Try to do this at least one week in advance.
8. After your defense, drop by the Thesis remembrance wall (located outside of room 4.11 in the CEG building). Talk to the Dispuut Verkeer (room 4.08) or the department secretaries (room 4.11) to obtain your card.
9. Hang it up and sign the card!
FAQ
- I recently graduated. Is it still possible to have my card hung up?
Sure! Just reach out to our Commissioners of Education via education@dispuutverkeer.nl or in person, we can figure something out.
- Is it mandatory to hand in a thesis remembrance card?
No, this is just an extra to appreciate and showcase all the work that went into your thesis project. If you prefer to not have your card up there, that is completely fine too!
- I am graduating at a different department, can I still put a card up?
Unfortunately, the remembrance wall is currently only for students graduating at the
department Transport&Planning.
