Changes in the T&P and TIL programme
This year, the T&P and TIL programmes are changed. Some changes hold for both masters, some only for one. This article will inform you about the changes and the consequences for your individual study programme. The new T&P setup makes it easier to start the Master halfway the academic year.
The faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences is aiming for larger courses (more ECTS) and a larger obligatory part in the MSc to reduce the costs of education. Therefore some courses are changed in the Master Transport & Planning. This off course also influences the Master TIL.
The changes in both programmes concern courses that changed in the amount of ECTS, courses that moved to another quarter, courses that became obligatory and two courses which are combined. TIL’s specific changes are the different composition of the specializations and the exchange of two essentials. To ensure the freedom of choice the amount of specializations which you have to choose is reduced to 2. The multidisciplinarity is guaranteed by the obligatory 12 ECTS credits for every faculty. T&P’s specific changes are the minimal amount of 2 courses you have to choose from 5 specializations and the traffic safety course, which became obligatory.
Old or new programme?
First of all, this choice varies from person to person. It is not possible to combine the two programmes. Though it is possible to switch, but then this will be irreversible. However, some general guidelines for the choice of the programme are as follows.
· Students that started this academic year will join the new programme.
· Continue the old programme if you started last year and passed most of the courses.
· Switch to the new programme if you started last year, but hardly passed any master courses.
· You are in doubt, if you started last year and passed half of the courses of last year. Then it depends on the number of courses that you passed whether it will be positive either to switch or to continue.

Course changes
Courses are changed in different ways: 2 courses are combined, some courses are extended or reduced and changed in the amount of ECTS and/or got another code and others have become obligatory.
